They redesigned the talent in 3.0.8, then nerfed it in 3.1.0, and then again buffed it in 3.3.3 - Blizzard knew one thing and that's that going into Cata, Blood was Death Knights tanking Spec. Blizzard quickly realizing their mistakes, and wanting to set a more defined playstyle for each Spec, starting to reel in the tanking ability of Frost and Unholy, and move Blood away from DPS and more towards tanking with buffs to Will of the Necropolis. In Retail Wrath, Blizzard in their wisdom gave every Spec for Death Knights the ability to tank, and this was primarily done as Unholy and Frost. This particularly gets even more difficult when you start to analyze a Death Knight tree. How hardcore your guild is, whether you're a Main Tank, an Off Tank, and how Defensive or Offensive you want to be. It'll be entirely dependent on a few things.
